The AmmoReady platform lets you create Gift Cards for customer redemption, but it does not currently support automatic Gift Card generation when a customer makes a purchase. In this guide, we’ll show you how to set up a Gift Card as an inventory item so customers can "purchase" it at a set price.
*Note: Gift Card codes are not automatically generated or sent to customers. This is a manual process managed by you, which we’ll cover step-by-step in this guide.
Step 1
Create a Gift Card Inventory item. Do do this, follow our Individual Inventory Product Creation guide to create the product listing which will allow customers to purchase the Gift Card.
*Note: You will most likely want to offer different pricing tiers as Gift Card options (e.g., $25, $50, $75, etc). Step 2 covers using our Product Variants feature to allow this type of selection, however we recommend setting the base price of the Inventory Product at $25 to start.
Step 2
Create pricing options by adding Product Variants to the Gift Card product listing.
We recommend setting up your Variant like so:
Add as many pricing options as desired. The end result will appear like the below screenshot to customers:
Step 3
The final step happens after a customer purchases one of the Gift Card options. After an order comes in you will need to manually generate a Gift Card set to the price for which the customer purchased. Once the Gift Card is created you will need to deliver the code to the customer via email or any other way you choose.
You've now successfully created a Gift Card product!
